2. The short version
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. Fonts and images are loaded from our own web space.
- The kaiport apps have no account and no sign-in, sync nothing through us and send no telemetry. We collect no data through the apps.
- AI requests go straight from your device to the AI provider you configure, with your own key, not through us.
- You buy kaiport Pro in the App Store. Apple handles the purchase; we receive no personal data about you.
3. Hosting and server logs
This website consists of static files served on our behalf by a web hosting provider (processing on behalf under Art. 28 GDPR). With every request the web server processes technically necessary access data: IP address, date and time, requested address, status code, bytes transferred, referrer and user agent. This is needed to deliver the pages, keep the service secure and fend off attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are kept only as long as needed for these purposes and then deleted or anonymised. We do not combine them with other data.
4. No cookies, local storage in your browser
We set no cookies. When you choose a light or dark theme, your browser stores that choice in its local storage, so the page looks right on your next visit. The value never leaves your browser and is not sent to us; you can delete it in your browser at any time. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).
5. Download page and download server
When you open the download page it fetches the list of current versions from our download server get.kaiport.dev, and the direct downloads come from there. That server processes the same access data as described in section 3, for the same purposes and on the same legal basis.
6. Links to the App Store
The App Store and Mac App Store buttons are plain links. Only when you click one does Apple's page (apps.apple.com) open; Apple's privacy policy applies there (apple.com/legal/privacy).
7. Contact by email
When you write to us we process your email address, your name if you give it and the content of your message to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for questions about a contract, otherwise (f)). We delete the correspondence once it is settled and no statutory retention period applies.
8. The kaiport apps
kaiport runs on your device. Connections, settings, command history, chat transcripts and the audit log are stored only locally; passwords, passphrases, keys and API keys are encrypted in your system's keychain (macOS and iOS), DPAPI (Windows) or Secret Service (Linux). The apps have no account, no sign-in, no sync through our servers, no analytics and no telemetry; we receive none of your connections, credentials, terminal content or chat messages.
kaiport connects to the servers and storage you configure. When you use AI Pilot, the app sends your messages, the output and files the assistant reads and the facts collected about the target system directly to the AI provider you configured, with your own API key. That provider's privacy policy applies to this data; we are not involved. You switch on the local MCP server of the Mac app yourself; it answers only on your computer (127.0.0.1), and what connected AI tools read goes to those tools and their providers.
Desktop versions downloaded directly from kaiport.dev ask get.kaiport.dev for new versions, which only processes the access data of any web request (section 3). Versions from the App Store, the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store are installed and updated through that store.
9. kaiport Pro (App Store purchases)
kaiport Pro is an App Store subscription. Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland) handles purchase, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under your Apple ID as a controller in its own right; Apple's privacy policy applies. The app checks on your device with the App Store (StoreKit) whether the subscription is active; nothing is sent to us. From Apple we only receive aggregated sales and usage reports without details about individuals; we never see your payment details or your Apple ID.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Contact us at the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
11. Security and changes
The website is served encrypted over HTTPS. When our offering or the law changes we update this privacy policy; the version published here applies.
