Support and contact
How to reach the kaiport team, what to include in your message, and how to report a security vulnerability privately.
If this documentation doesn't answer your question, write to the kaiport team. This page explains how to reach us, which details help us answer quickly, and how to report a security vulnerability.
Before you write
- Troubleshooting explains the error messages of the app.
- The FAQ answers common questions about the free version, kaiport Pro and AI Pilot.
- For problems on your servers, AI Pilot can help: select an error in the terminal and choose Fix this error (AI) from the context menu, or click AI diagnosis when a storage connection fails.
Contact the team
Write to us by email. The address is on the contact page. We usually answer within one business day.
Paste error messages and the relevant lines of the log file into your message as text.
What to include
The more of this your message contains, the faster we can help:
- App version: under Settings → About → Version.
- Operating system: macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS or iPadOS with its version. On a Mac, also whether it has Apple silicon or Intel; on Linux, the distribution and whether you use the AppImage or the .deb package.
- Where you got kaiport: the Mac App Store, the App Store on iPhone or iPad, the download from kaiport.dev or the Microsoft Store.
- What you did: the steps that lead to the problem.
- What happened: the exact error message. In a failed terminal tab you can select and copy the text.
- Connection type: SSH, FTP/FTPS, S3 with the provider, WebDAV or Azure Blob. For AI Pilot problems, also the provider and the model.
- Log: the lines of
kaiport.logfrom around the time of the problem, if the file exists.
kaiport.log is in kaiport's data folder:
| System | Data folder |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/kaiport |
| Windows | %APPDATA%\kaiport |
| Linux | ~/.config/kaiport |
Settings → About shows the exact path under Data. On macOS, Help → Open Data Folder (settings, logs) opens it.
Report a security vulnerability
If you find a vulnerability in the app or the website, tell us privately by email (see the contact page), not in public. We answer quickly and credit responsible reports.
Describe the affected version and system, the steps to reproduce the issue and what an attacker could achieve with it. How kaiport protects your data is described in Security.
Feature requests and feedback
Ideas and feedback are welcome by email (see the contact page). Describe the task you want to get done and where kaiport gets in your way today.
kaiport Pro and payments
kaiport Pro is an App Store subscription, so Apple handles the payment, receipts, cancellation and refunds:
- Manage or cancel: on iPhone and iPad under Settings › your name › Subscriptions, on a Mac in the App Store under your account › Subscriptions. See Renewal and cancellation.
- Receipts: Apple sends them to the email address of your Apple ID.
- Refunds: request them from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- kaiport Pro isn't unlocked: choose Restore purchases in Settings → kaiport Pro, with the Apple ID you subscribed with. See Restore purchases.
We never see your payment details or your Apple ID, so we can't look up or change a purchase for you.
Privacy requests
kaiport has no account and stores no personal data about you on our side; your connections, settings and chats stay on your devices. If you wrote to us, we have your message; for questions about it, for example access or deletion, write to us by email. The privacy policy explains which data is processed.
