Settings and security on mobilePreview
Settings of kaiport for iPhone and iPad with their defaults, kaiport Pro, the app lock with Face ID or Touch ID, and where the app keeps passwords and keys.
The screenshots of the mobile app on these pages are placeholders and will be replaced with screens of the released app.
This page lists the settings of kaiport for iPhone and iPad with their defaults, and explains how the app protects your data: with the app lock and the iOS keychain.

Snippets
Snippets are recurring commands saved with a name. They are stored with the settings on the device.
kaiport Pro
Settings › kaiport Pro shows whether kaiport Pro is active, when it renews or ends, the free trial, or a renewal payment that did not go through. It has the offer, Restore purchases and Apple's subscription management, where you also cancel. See Free and kaiport Pro.
App lock
The app lock is off by default. When you turn it on, the app locks itself and open again with Face ID or Touch ID, or with the device passcode.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| App lock | Off | Protects the app with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode |
| Lock after | 60 seconds | How long the app may stay in the background before it locks; 0 locks it immediately |
On the desktop, the app lock uses Touch ID on macOS or a password and locks after a number of minutes without activity; see Security.
Where your data is stored
| What | Where on the phone |
|---|---|
| Passwords, passphrases and private keys of your connections | iOS keychain |
| AI Pilot API key | iOS keychain |
| Connections without their secrets, settings, known hosts | JSON files in the app's own data folder |
The keychain entries are available only after you have unlocked the phone once after a restart, and they stay on this device: they aren't part of iCloud Keychain and aren't restored onto another device from a backup. To bring your connections to a new device, export them and import the file there; passwords and keys are not part of the export, see Getting started. The app's data files are protected by iOS data protection in the same way until the first unlock after a restart.
Known hosts
Host keys you trust are stored on the device. You can remove a stored key; the app then asks again the next time it connects to that server. How the check works: Host keys.
